<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Even within the prestigious Ivy League, there’s something special about <b>Harvard University</b>. Founded in 1636, it’s the country’s oldest post-secondary school and the alma mater of many noteworthy figures, including numerous U.S. presidents and Nobel Laureates. <br /><br />But for many top students, a degree from Harvard is about more than social cachet – often it’s also the ticket to a great-paying job. That’s good news because a stint at Harvard doesn’t always come cheap. For the 2014-2015 academic year, the standard tuition is $43,938. Room and board and other fees bring the total price tag to a hefty $58,607.<br /><br />That’s pricey even by private school standards. Nationwide, the average cost of a private, non-profit, four-year institution will be $31,231 in 2014-2015, according to the College Board. The average for tuition and room and board combined is $42,419. <br /><br /><span style="color: #660000;"><b>Plentiful Financial Aid</b></span><br /><br />One of the benefits of a uniquely successful alumni pool is that many give back to the school and make it easier for low- and middle-income students to attend the institution. Today, the school’s endowment of $36 billion helps make it possible to offer generous financial aid packages to those in need. <br /><br />For the 2012-2013 year, the university says that most students from families making less than $65,000 a year attended absolutely free. If you came from a family making between $65,000 and $150,000, you typically have to kick in 10% of your family income or less. Students with families making slightly more also receive considerable financial support from the school.<br /><br />One statistic in particular illustrates the scope of the university’s aid program, which is entirely need-based. For roughly 90% percent of families, Harvard actually costs the same as, or less than, an education at a state school.<br /><br />The university says that its admissions process is entirely need-blind. If you come from a lower-income family and are eligible to receive a sizable aid package, you theoretically have the same chance of admission as someone from a wealthier family.<br /><br />While international students cannot receive federal financial aid awards, they are eligible for university funds, which can help alleviate the cost of attending the institution.<br /><br /><span style="color: #660000;"><b>Big Dividends Down the Road</b></span><br /><br />Even without taking into account financial aid, a Harvard education is by nearly any measure a terrific investment. For many employers – including some Wall Street banks and prominent consulting firms – having the school on one’s résumé offers an enormous leg up on the competition. According to a survey by the school newspaper, The Harvard Crimson, the average senior will earn between $50,000 and $69,999 right after graduation. <br /><br />Perhaps more important, having attended Harvard gives graduates valuable connections to tap as their careers unfold, allowing them to sustain their success. The 2014-2015 College Salary Report by the research firm PayScale suggests Harvard graduates earn more than those of any other Ivy League school by the mid-point of their career. "Bachelor's degree only" graduates have median earnings of $57,700 in their early career and $118,200 in mid career; Harvard ranking 14th among schools (ranking based on mid-career salary). Adding in those who went on to get graduate degrees, the figures rise to median earnings of $59,600 for early career and $122,700 for mid, with a rank of 11. Obviously, it is important to note that these salaries are overall figures, not tied to a specific job or advanced degree; earnings will fluctuate substantially based on those factors. <br /><br />In PayScale’s ranking of American universities based on their 20-year return on investment, Harvard comes out No. 23, even before factoring in financial aid. When you factor in getting financial aid and compare Harvard grads only to those from private colleges and those paying out-of-state tuition at public universities, it jumps to No. 10, with a median 20-year net payout of $821,90.<br /><br /><span style="color: #660000;"><b>The Bottom Line</b></span><br /><br />Harvard might have one of the country’s highest tuition rates, but many students pay far less thanks to a strong financial aid program. Either way, research suggests that an education at this illustrious school is a terrific long-term investment. <span style="font-size: x-large;">An Introduction To Perkins Loans</span></h2>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /><br /><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: #38761d;"><b>Perkins loans</b></span> are accessed through what is called "campus-based aid." Together with the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) and Federal Work-Study (FWS) programs, they provide students with funding based upon extreme financial need. Each of these programs is administered through a school's financial aid department. There are over 1,800 schools that are affiliated with these federally funded programs so be sure to check with your particular campus.<br />TUTORIAL: Student Loans<br /><br />Your institution's financial aid administrators have wide jurisdiction in determining who receives funding and how much. In 2010 there was over $1 billion dollars distributed to just under 500,000 applicants in total. Most of this money comes from federal coffers, but your school will also contribute money to the fund. The Department of Education determines how much each school has access to, but it is the school that actually loans the money and is the one that must be repaid. You must fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form to determine your eligibility for a Perkins Loan.<br /><br />Students who go into teaching, public service or the military can have part of (or their entire) loan forgiven (i.e. cancelled). The schools will be reimbursed for this shortfall by the Federal government with the provision that the replaced funds be put in the school's revolving loan program. The size of the school's fund (the amount available for them to loan out to prospective students) is determined by government contributions and loan cancellation payments, the individual schools one third matching contribution, and loan collections from existing performing student loans. (Learn more in Student Borrowing: University Payment Plans Vs. Federal Student Loans.)<br /><b><br />Eligibility</b><br />The U.S. Department of Education uses the information from the FAFSA form in conjunction with a standard formula (determined by Congress) to evaluate each students financial status. The formula includes the following elements:<br /><br /> the student's income<br /> the student's assets (if independent)<br /> the parents' income<br /> the parents' assets (if student is dependent)<br /> the household size<br /> The number of household members attending post-secondary schools. Your family is also expected to contribute to your education expenses. This is called the expected family contribution (EFC) and is the sum of:<br /> a percentage of net income (after subtracting a basic expense allowance)<br /> a percentage of net assets (after subtracting an asset protection allowance)<br /><br />Depending upon the student's status (dependent, independent, independent with dependents) different assessment rates and allowances are used in the calculation of the EFC.<br /><br /><b>Maximum Funding Levels</b><br />The following chart shows the maximum Perkins Loan amounts that can be allocated to individual students. The maximum amount will differ depending upon the student's status (undergraduate, graduate or professional degree student). It is important to remember that your school will determine the amount of the loan and that there are limited funds available. It is possible that you may qualify, but will not receive any funding help through a Perkins Loan. Be sure to submit your FAFSA form as early as possible so that you maximize your chances of receiving funding.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">As of 2011-12<br />Source: Funding Education beyond high school. The guide to Federal Student Aid<br /><b><br />Disbursement of Funds</b><br />Since it is your school that is actually lending the money, the school will either credit your tuition account directly or deposit the money in your account of choice (via a cheque). In most cases your loan will be disbursed in two deposits (or cheques) throughout the year. (Learn more in College Loans: Private Vs. Federal.)<br />Since most academic terms have more up-front costs at the beginning of the year (like text books for example) your loan disbursements will be unequal to account for these varying costs. Perkins loans have no fees, administration or otherwise, attached to them, and they are eligible to be consolidated after graduation should that be required.<br /><br /><b>Repayment Options</b><br />Upon graduation or if you leave school (or fall below half-time registration), you will be given a nine-month grace period during which you will not have to make any loan repayments. After this period, however, you will be required to pay the loan back with 5% interest.<br /><br />If you cannot pay your loan back, you may be eligible to change your repayment plan to one that is linked to your income level. Forbearance or deferment of your loan is also a possibility. You may even qualify for a total loan cancellation under certain circumstances. These options are explained below:<br /><br /> <b>*</b> Deferment means putting a temporary hold on payments (principal and interest) due to financial hardship or military service. There are other conditions that apply.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;"> <b>*</b> Forbearance also means a temporary hold on loan payments, but unlike deferment your interest will still accrue and you are responsible for the added interest.<br /> <b>*</b> Your Federal student loans will be cancelled upon your death or total permanent disability. There are other conditions that may qualify for a total cancellation of your debt.<br /> * If you are a teacher in a low income area you may be eligible for a loan cancellation.<br /> * Certain public service workers may also qualify to have their student loans cancelled. You can find additional information at www.studentaid.ed.gov.<br /><br />To find out all the information on your specific loan, you can visit the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) which is organized by the U.S. Department of Education. Here you will find your loan type, your outstanding principle, amount of interest owed, disbursed amounts and the total of all your federal education loans. (You can also read Student Financial Aid Changes Implemented in 2009.)<br /><br /><b>The Bottom Line</b><br />If you are still having difficulty repaying your student loans, you may consider consolidating all your loans into one reduced monthly payment. However, extending the term of the loan up to 30 years will mean far more interest will be paid over the length of the contract. You will also give up any chance of forbearance, deferment or cancellation, so be sure to consider your options carefully before you decide to consolidate your loans.<br /><br /><b>Trade Like a Top Hedge Fund</b><br />What can technical traders see that you don’t? <div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br />Loan proceeds can be used for a variety of purposes, from funding a new business, to buying your fiancée an engagement ring. But with all of the different types of loans out there, which type is best? In this article, we\'ll take you through a list of some of the more popular types of loans, as well as their characteristics and their usefulness in meeting consumers\' financial needs.<br /><br />1. Personal Loans<br />These loans are offered by most banks, and the proceeds may be used for virtually any expense (from buying a new stereo system to paying off a common bill). Typically, personal loans are unsecured, and range anywhere from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars. As a general rule, lenders will typically require some form of income verification, and/or proof of other assets worth at least as much as the individual is borrowing. The application for this type of loan is typically only one or two pages in length. Approvals (or denials) are generally granted within a few days.<br /><br />The downside is that the interest rates on these loans can be quite high. According to the Federal Reserve, they range from about 10-12%. The other negative is that these loans sometimes must be repaid within two years, making it impractical for individuals looking to finance large projects.<br /><br />In short, personal loans (in spite of their high interest rates) are probably the best way to go for individuals looking to borrow relatively small amounts of money, and who are able to repay the loan within a couple of years.<br /><br />2. Credit Cards<br />When consumers use credit cards, they are essentially taking out a loan with the understanding that it will be repaid at some later date. Credit cards are a particularly attractive source of funds for individuals (and companies) because they are accepted by many - if not most - merchants as a form of payment.<br /><br />In addition, to obtain a card (and, by extension, $5,000 or $10,000 worth of credit), all that\'s required is a one-page application. The credit review process is also rather quick. Written applications are typically approved (or denied) within a week or two. Online / telephone applications are often reviewed within minutes. Also in terms of their use, credit cards are extremely flexible. The money can be used for virtually anything these days from paying college tuition to buying a drink at the local watering hole. (To find out more about this process, see The Importance of Your Credit Rating and How Credit Cards Affect Your Credit Rating.)<br /><br />There are definitely pitfalls, however. The interest rates that most credit-card companies charge range as high as 20% per year. In addition, a consumer is more likely to rack up debt using a credit card (as opposed to other loans) because they are widely accepted as currency and because it\'s psychologically easier to hand someone a credit card than to fork over the same amount of cash. (To read more on this type of loan, see Take Control Of Your Credit Cards, Credit, Debit And Charge: Sizing Up The Cards In Your Wallet and Understanding Credit Card Interest.)<br /><br />3. Home-Equity Loans<br />Homeowners may borrow against the equity they\'ve built up in their house using a home-equity loan. In other words, the homeowner is taking a loan out against the value of his or her home. A good method of determining the amount of home equity available for a loan would be to take the difference between the home\'s market value and the amount still owing on the mortgage.<br /><br />The loan proceeds may be used for any number of reasons, but are typically used to build home additions, or for debt consolidation. The interest rates on home-equity loans are very reasonable as well. In addition, the terms of these loans typically range from 15 to 20 years, making them particularly attractive for those looking to borrow large amounts of money. But, perhaps the most attractive feature of the home-equity loan is that the interest is usually tax deductible.<br /><br />The downside to these loans is that consumers can easily get in over their heads by mortgaging their homes to the hilt. Furthermore, home-equity loans are particularly dangerous in situations where only one family member is the breadwinner, and the family\'s ability to repay the loan might be hindered by that person\'s death or disability. Even a 1% increase in interest rates could mean the difference between losing and keeping your home if you rely too heavily on this style of loan.<br /><br />Note: In situations like these, life/disability insurance is frequently used to help protect against the possibility of default. (To keep reading on this subject, see Home-Equity Loans: The Costs and The Home-Equity Loan: What It Is And How It Works.)<br /><br />4. Home-Equity Line of Credit<br />This line of credit acts as a loan and is similar to home-equity loans in that the consumer is borrowing against his or her home\'s equity. However, unlike traditional home-equity loans, these lines of credit are revolving, meaning that the consumer may borrow a lump sum, repay a portion of the loan, and then borrow again. It\'s kind of like a credit card that has a credit limit based on your home\'s equity! These loans may be tax deductible and are typically repayable over a period of 10 to 20 years, making them attractive for larger projects.<br /><br />Because specific amounts may be borrowed at different points in time, the interest rate charged is typically pegged to some underlying index such as the "prime rate". This is both good and bad in the sense that at some times, the interest rates being charged may be quite low. However, during period of rising rates, the interest charges on outstanding balances can be quite high.<br /><br />There are other downsides as well. Because the amount that can be borrowed can be quite large (typically up to $500,000 depending upon a home\'s equity), consumers tend to get in over their heads. These consumers are often lured in by low interest rates, but when rates begin to rise, those interest charges begin racking up and the attractiveness of these loans starts to wane.<br /><br />5. Cash Advances<br />Cash advances are typically offered by credit-card companies as short-term loans. Other entities, such as tax-preparation organizations, may offer advances against an expected IRS tax refund or against future income earned by the consumer.<br /><br />While cash advances may be easy to obtain, there are many downsides to this type of loan. For example:<br /><br /> They are not typically tax deductible.<br /> Loan amounts are typically in the hundreds of dollars, making them impractical for many purchases, particularly large ones.<br /> The effective interest rate charges and related fees can be very high.<br /><br />In short, cash advances are a fast alternative for obtaining money (funds are typically available on the spot), but because of the numerous pitfalls, they should be considered only as a last resort. (Learn more about cash advances in Payday Loans Don\'t Pay.)<br /><br />6. Small Business Loans<br />The Small Business Administration (SBA) or your local bank typically extend small business loans to would-be entrepreneurs, but only after they\'ve submitted (and received approval for) a formal business plan. The SBA and other financial institutions typically require that the individual personally guarantee the loan, which means that they will probably have to put up personal assets as collateral in case the business fails. Loan amounts can range from a few thousand to a few million dollars, depending on the venture.<br /><br />While the term of the loan may vary from institution to institution, typically, consumers will have between five and 25 years to repay the loans. The amount of interest incurred from the loan depends on the lending institution in which the loan is made. Keep in mind that borrowers can negotiate with the lending institution with regard to the level of interest charged. However, there are some loans on the market that offer a variable rate.<br /><br />Small business loans are the way to go for anyone looking to fund a new or existing business. However, be forewarned: getting a business plan approved by the lending institution may be difficult. In addition, many banks are unwilling to finance "cash businesses" because their books (ie. tax records) often do not accurately reflect the health of the underlying business.<br /><br />Bottom Line<br />While there are many sources that individuals and businesses may tap for funds, all consumers should assess both the positive and negative aspects of any loan before signing on the dotted line.<br /><br />To read more on this subject, see Getting A Loan Without Your Parents.<br /><br />Trade Like a Top Hedge Fund<br />What can technical traders see that you don’t? <span style="font-size: large;">Loan protection insurance or payment protection insurance (PPI) is designed to help policyholders by providing financial support in time of need. Whether the need is due to disability or unemployment, this insurance can help protect monthly loan payments and protect the insured from default. The loan protection policy has different terms depending on where it is offered. In Britain, it could be referred to as accident sickness insurance, unemployment insurance, redundancy insurance or premium protection insurance. These all provide very similar coverage. In the U.S. it is oftentimes referred to as payment protection insurance (PPI). The U.S. offers several forms of this insurance in conjunction with mortgages, personal or car loans. Read on to find out how these insurances work and if they could be right for you.<br /><br /><b>How Does Loan Protection Insurance Work?</b><br />Loan protection can help policyholders meet their monthly debts up to a predetermined amount. These policies offer short-term protection, providing coverage from generally 12 to 24 months depending on the insurance company and policy. The benefits of the policy can be used to pay off personal loans, car loans or credit cards. Policies are for usually people from age 18-65 who are working at the time the policy is purchased. In many cases to qualify, the purchaser has to be employed at least 16 hours a week on a long term contract, or be self-employed for a specified period of time.<br /><br /><b>The two different types of loan protection insurance policies are:</b><br /><br /><b><i>Standard Policy</i></b><br />This policy disregards the age, gender, occupation and smoking habits of the policyholder. The policyholder can decide what amount of coverage he or she wants. This type of policy is widely available through loan providers. It does not pay until after the initial 60-day exclusion period. Maximum coverage is 24 months.<br /><br /><i><b>Age-Related Policy</b></i><br />In this case, the cost is determined by the age and amount of coverage the policyholder wants to have. This type of policy is only offered in Britain. Maximum coverage is for 12 months. Quotes might be less expensive because according to insurance providers, younger policyholders tend to make fewer claims. Depending on the company you choose to provide your insurance, the loan protection policies sometimes includes a death benefit. For either type of policy, the policyholder pays a monthly premium in return for the security of knowing that the policy will pay when the policyholder is unable to meet loan payments.<br /><br />Insurance providers have different starting dates for when to begin coverage. Generally, an insured policyholder can submit a claim 30 to 90 days after continuous unemployment or incapacity from the date the policy began. The amount the coverage pays will depend on the insurance policy.<br /><br /><b>What Are the Costs?</b><br />The cost of payment protection insurance depends on where you live, the type of policy you select, whether it is standard or age-related and how much coverage you would like to have. Loan protection insurance can be very expensive. If you have poor credit history, you might end up paying an even higher premium for coverage.<br /><br />If you think this type of insurance is something you need, consider looking for a discount insurance group that offers this service. Premiums through large banks and lenders are generally higher than independent brokers, and the vast majority of policies are sold when a loan is taken out. You have the option of choosing whether to buy the insurance separately at a later date, which can save you hundreds of dollars. When buying a policy with a mortgage, credit card, or any other type of loan, a lender can add the cost of the insurance to the loan and then charge interest on both, which could potentially double the cost of borrowing. Get the policy that best applies to your needs and current situation; otherwise you could pay more than you have to.<br /><br /><b>Pros and Cons of Having Loan Protection</b><br />Depending on how well you research the different policies, having a loan protection policy can pay off when you select a policy that is inexpensive and will provide the coverage that is suitable for you.<br /><br />In terms of credit score, having a loan protection insurance policy helps maintain your current credit score because the policy enables you to keep up-to-date with loan payments. By allowing you to continue paying your loans in times of financial crisis, your credit score is not affected.<br /><br />Having this type of insurance does not necessarily help lower loan interest rates. When you shop for a policy, be leery of loan providers that try to make it seem like your loan interest will decrease if you also buy a payment protection insurance policy through them. What really happens in this case is that the loan interest rate difference from the now "lowered" rate is latched onto the loan protection policy, giving the illusion that your loan interest rate has decreased, when in fact the costs were just transferred to the loan protection insurance policy.<br /><br /><b>What to Look out for</b><br />It is important to point out that PPI coverage is not required in order to be approved for a loan. Some loan providers make you believe this, but you can definitely shop with an independent insurance provider rather than buy a payment protection plan from the company that originally provided the loan.<br /><br />An insurance policy can contain many clauses and exclusions; you should review all of them before determining whether a particular policy is right for you. For those working full time with employer benefits you migh not even need this type of insurance because many employees are covered through their jobs, which offer disability and sick pay for an average of six months.<br /><br />When reviewing the clauses and policy exclusions, be sure you qualify for submitting claims. The last thing you want to have happen when the unexpected occurs is to discover you aren't qualified to submit a claim. Unfortunately, some unscrupulous companies sell polices to clients who don't even qualify. Always be well informed before you sign a contract.<br /><br />Make sure that you know all loan protection insurance terms, conditions and exclusions. If this information is on the insurer's website, print it out. If the information is not listed on the website, request that the provider fax, email, or mail it to you before you sign up. Any ethical company is more than willing to do this for a prospective client. If the company hesitates in any way, move on to another provider.<br /><br />Policies differ, so check terms and conditions of the coverage to see what exclusions and clauses are stated in the policy and when they would start. Review the policy carefully. Some policies do not allow you to receive a payout under the following circumstances:<br /><br /> If your job is part-time<br /> If you are self-employed<br /> If you can't work because of a pre-existing medical condition<br /> If you are only working on a short-term contract<br /> If you are incapable of working at any other job other than your current job<br /><br />Understand which health-related issues are excluded from coverage. For example, because diseases are being diagnosed earlier, illnesses, such as cancer, heart attack and stroke might not serve as a claim for the policyholder because they are not considered as critical as they would've been years ago when medical technology wasn't as advanced.<br /><br /><b>The Bottom Line</b><br />When searching for a loan or PPI, always thoroughly read the terms, conditions and exclusions of the policy before committing yourself. Look for a reputable company. One way is to contact the consumer advocacy facility where you live. A consumer advocacy group should be able to direct you to ethically responsible providers.<br /><br />Review your particular financial situation in detail to make certain that getting a policy is the best approach for you. A loan protection policy does not necessarily fit everyone's situation. Determine why you might need it; see if you have other emergency sources of income through either savings from your job or other sources. Go through all exclusions and clauses. Will getting the insurance be cost-effective for you? Are you confident and comfortable with the company that is handling your policy? These are all issues that must be addressed carefully before making such an important decision.<br /><br /><b>Let Insurance Be Your Peace of Mind</b><br />Do you know the 4 Types of Insurance Everyone Needs? <br /></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">Do you want to transfer your domain name to a new registrar, but don’t know what to do?</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><span style="font-size: large;">Then you are on the right place. In this post, I will be sharing how
to transfer your domain name from your current registrar to a new
registrar.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><span style="font-size: large;">There could be a lot of reason for transferring a domain name. Maybe
you’re not happy with your current domain provider’s service. Maybe you
find another domain registrar with cheap price. Maybe you need
additional services that your existing registrar doesn’t provide.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><span style="font-size: large;">However, transferring domain name is very easy. You needn’t to deal
with any technical stuff while transferring your domain name. Here are
some requirements before transfer.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><ul>
<li><span style="font-size: large;">Domain name should be registered for more than 60 days in your current registrar.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: large;">Domain name shouldn’t be set to expire within next 7 days.</span></li>
</ul>
<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li><span style="font-size: large;">Generally you can transfer only .com, .net, .org, .info, .biz, .us,
.ca, .cc, .cn, .com.cn, .net.cn, .org.cn, co,.uk, .org.uk, .me.uk, .mobi
domain name.</span><span style="font-size: large;"> </span></li>
</ul>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<h2>
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: maroon;">How to Transfer Domain Name to New Registrar</span></span></h2>
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><span style="font-size: large;">Though this tutorial is based on how I moved my domain name from <strong>HostGator to Namecheap</strong>, it will work for other registrars like Godaddy, Registrer, Network Solutions, Bluehost, Dreamhost etc. (If you are looking for a reliable & cheap domain provider, I would suggest you to go with <strong>Namecheap</strong>)</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><span style="font-size: large;">Now let’s see how to transfer your domain name to another registrar. Just follow these simple steps…</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><strong>1. Make Sure You have Valid Email Address in Who is Data</strong></span></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><span style="font-size: large;">At first, you have to make sure that administrative contact of your
domain name has a valid Email address in your whois database. Because
the new registrar will send you a confirmation letter to your email.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><span style="font-size: large;">To check your Email addess in Whois data, visit <a href="https://www.namecheap.com/domains/whois" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">this site</a>. Enter your domain name and check <strong><span style="color: #444444;">Registrant Email.</span></strong></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"> </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivm5RmGLUg147xTSYusUSCFRs-NJGz-EGVQ72yaEq4MQB5liWel86sTuAQ6z_b2_AKqxqeoRCG4h_HbOr4QMDZqR213bZvBjPeNLLx7eSRNOWceBgvKKJxxhly8uSA4rMBVtxQYbTMeHV9/s1600/q1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="How to Transfer a Domain Name to New Registrar" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivm5RmGLUg147xTSYusUSCFRs-NJGz-EGVQ72yaEq4MQB5liWel86sTuAQ6z_b2_AKqxqeoRCG4h_HbOr4QMDZqR213bZvBjPeNLLx7eSRNOWceBgvKKJxxhly8uSA4rMBVtxQYbTMeHV9/s1600/q1.jpg" height="152" title="How to Transfer a Domain Name to New Registrar" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"> </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">If you have valid Email Address on your Whois data, you can skip this
step. But if you haven’t, you need to make sure that your Privacy
Protection is disabled. Privacy Protection is a service that hides your
personal information from the public. You can contact with your
registrar to cancel the privacy protection.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><span style="font-size: large;">You can also do it manually from your Domain Management. Here’s how
to do it on HostGator. Go to Domain Management > Manage Domains and
click on ‘Shield Sign’. And disable Domain Privacy.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEheuIAarYUCTMyNTpZ4fUY_XZf8dBVbX-jI5lJcrlm2Ue-UjqtPRKPFVbB6wURpOv0aqbXUAYJ0IwB5_5AVpPr3r0SiLqDOzZhDaQclPlXob2zYZB9KU6Zpls_iUN-qCmqFSCMiJnuSZMzZ/s1600/q1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="How to Transfer a Domain Name to New Registrar" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEheuIAarYUCTMyNTpZ4fUY_XZf8dBVbX-jI5lJcrlm2Ue-UjqtPRKPFVbB6wURpOv0aqbXUAYJ0IwB5_5AVpPr3r0SiLqDOzZhDaQclPlXob2zYZB9KU6Zpls_iUN-qCmqFSCMiJnuSZMzZ/s1600/q1.jpg" height="85" title="How to Transfer a Domain Name to New Registrar" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><strong>2. Unlock Domain Address</strong></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><span style="font-size: large;">You domain must be unlocked for transfer. Domain Locking is a
security feature that protects against third parties trying to edit,
transfer, or delete your domain without permission.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><span style="font-size: large;">You can unlock your domain name from control panel. For HostGator, click on the ‘Lock Sign’ to unlock your domain name.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJayaFkTUnylIOU86i4APF7BDHqGhUhO4PI3FbcJK91TI7WmFcSzyWiUPwO-NJ-rRk4x0r7RLYdxli2_46c6aFxuz6XHTqGrS6A8RXVJek-fbcRD2aAgBT7_g3w_Occ4YxrFzHRwljchqG/s1600/q1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="How to Transfer a Domain Name to New Registrar" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJayaFkTUnylIOU86i4APF7BDHqGhUhO4PI3FbcJK91TI7WmFcSzyWiUPwO-NJ-rRk4x0r7RLYdxli2_46c6aFxuz6XHTqGrS6A8RXVJek-fbcRD2aAgBT7_g3w_Occ4YxrFzHRwljchqG/s1600/q1.jpg" height="53" title="How to Transfer a Domain Name to New Registrar" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><strong>3. Get Authorization Code </strong></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><span style="font-size: large;">Authorization Code is also known as <strong>EPP Code or Transfer Key</strong>.
It’s a unique combination of letters, numbers or symbols. You can get
authorization code from your Domain Overview. If you don’t find any
authorization code on your account, contact with your domain registrar.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><span style="font-size: large;">To get EPP Key on HostGator, just click on your Domain Name from
‘Manage Domains’ and a domian overview will be poped up. Copy EPP Key
from there.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh31URabRV7FZdb8xG4U6dbUPAY0eAYLrg9YytZlvOjp2QAa_WMuUqKKu0VKRPsK6nRa3FcXWgM3cTPTgcvRRaCIIZWBGMyJSkZFA3GjsLwFRxCOA60hueU-57GdhR7paHsTM7h4-uV4NYb/s1600/q1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="How to Transfer a Domain Name to New Registrar" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh31URabRV7FZdb8xG4U6dbUPAY0eAYLrg9YytZlvOjp2QAa_WMuUqKKu0VKRPsK6nRa3FcXWgM3cTPTgcvRRaCIIZWBGMyJSkZFA3GjsLwFRxCOA60hueU-57GdhR7paHsTM7h4-uV4NYb/s1600/q1.jpg" height="257" title="How to Transfer a Domain Name to New Registrar" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><strong>4. Purchase Domain Name Transfer</strong></span></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><span style="font-size: large;">Now time to purchase the Domain Name Transfer from your desired domain registrar. Namecheap is my personal favorite. It offers cheap domain name transfer. Go to Namecheap domain <a href="https://www.namecheap.com/domains/transfer.aspx" target="_blank">transfer page</a> and enter your domain name.<span style="color: red;"><span style="color: black;"></span></span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><span style="font-size: large;">When you purchase a domain name transfer, some of the providers may
let you keep all the remaining time on your current registration.
Namecheap keeps all the remaining time.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><span style="font-size: large;">After the payment, you’ll need to set your Autorization/EPP code on
your new registrar. Once you’ve bought the transfer, you’ll get an Email
about EPP required. Just follow the link and enter your EPP code.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><strong>5. Email Notifications from Current and New Registrar</strong></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><span style="font-size: large;">Then you’ll get confirmation mail from both current and new
registrar. You needn’t to do anything with your current registrar’s
mail. But you’ll have to click on Confirmation link from your new
registrar’s mail.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><span style="font-size: large;">It will take 5-7 days to transfer your domain name. Once your domain
transfer has been completed, you’ll get the confirmation Email from your
new registrar.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><span style="font-size: large;">I haven’t faced any downtime while transferring my domain name. I
would suggest you to contact with your new domain provider to know about
downtime.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><span style="font-size: large;">Hope it helps. Do let us know if face any difficulties on
transferring your domain name to new registrar. Don’t forget to share
your domain transfer experience with us. </span></div>

<div class="entry-title" itemprop="headline" style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">If you are an Adsense Publisher, chances that you want to increase
your earning through more clicks. Sometimes it happens that you have
good CTR, I mean you are getting a good number clicks from Adsense but
your estimated earning is low. For example, you got 40 clicks and your
estimated earning was $0.77! It’s really an unexpected earning.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><span style="font-size: large;">You aren’t responsible for this low earning. Actually Low CPC (Cost
Per Click) is responsible for this. You might have noticed that Adsense
shows Ads according to post contents mostly. Specifically we can say,
Ads are related with post’s keywords. CPC is related with these
keywords.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><span style="font-size: large;">Google won’t pay you an average rate for clicks. Sometimes you will
earn $3 for a click where sometimes they won’t pay you $3 for 50 clicks.
Here is the point. It depends on the Ads that people clicked. If people
clicked on a high paying ad then you’ll get a good payment. As I said
Ads are showing according to your content’s keywords, if you have <b>high paying keywords</b><b> </b>in your post you will get high PPC (Pay Per Click).</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><span style="font-size: large;"><strong>So What is High Paying Keyword?</strong></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><span style="font-size: large;">High Paying Keyword is the keyword that has high CPC for which
advertisers (Adwords) are bidding for. Having high paying kewyword mean
more PPC income for publishers (Adsense).</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><span style="font-size: large;">I know you want to know which are high paying keywords? Wait, In this
post I will show you how to find high paying Adsense keywords for your
blog.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><h2>
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: maroon;">How to Find High Paying Adsense Keywords</span></span></h2>
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><span style="font-size: large;">Finding high paying keywords is easy, but it’s not enough to increase
your earning. To increase your earning, you’ll have to find the high
paying <strong>targeted Keywords </strong>that will generate more traffic to your blog.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><span style="font-size: large;">For example, we know that some of the most expensive keywords are
Insurance, Loans, Mortgage, Attorney, Hosting, Laywer, Donation etc.
These keywords may not be related with your niche. Even if it’s related
with your niche, it’s really tough to rank for these keywords. So you
need to find the keywords that are related with your niche and easy to
rank.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><span style="font-size: large;">One of the amazing tools that can help you to find targeted and profitable keywords is <strong><a href="http://www.semrush.com/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">SEMrush</a></strong>.</span><br />

<span style="font-size: x-large;">Tips to purchase structured settlements</span></h2>
<h2 style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-large;"> </span></h2>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxdFZUwgGhxJWz02Y6n9fk0g2QOUfv6wSHj97eVnWUhvTV6qAoOMllNXasVyM4lykG2QJBmk_B_08vhA4s8LdY1UjrUOgmICI2_zqIfkE6ATTyvMwwg8nCksNbu8ahpdujvevWuzaQR6L5/s1600/q1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Tips to purchase structured settlements" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxdFZUwgGhxJWz02Y6n9fk0g2QOUfv6wSHj97eVnWUhvTV6qAoOMllNXasVyM4lykG2QJBmk_B_08vhA4s8LdY1UjrUOgmICI2_zqIfkE6ATTyvMwwg8nCksNbu8ahpdujvevWuzaQR6L5/s1600/q1.jpg" title="Tips to purchase structured settlements" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Are you the recipient of <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD5">a settlement</span> from a lawsuit? If so, the judge may have issued you a <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD3">structured settlement</span>, in which your <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD9">settlement</span> is paid out <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD7">over time</span>. This is great for some-those who are <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD8">financially</span> challenged, but for those who have financial wherewithal, this is a nuisance.<br />
<br />
The Periodic Payment Settlement Act of 1982 (<span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD2">Public Law</span> 97-473) created structured settlements to assist injury victims by spreading out <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD4">lump sum payments</span> over time. Structured settlements
are favorably accepted and a significant piece of the legal landscape.
In the U.S. alone, $6 billion is paid out each year to fund structured settlements.<br />
<br />
Why Sell Your Structured Settlement?<br />
<br />
If, having received payments for a few years, you've finished medical
care or digested your injury and are ready to move forward, selling your
structured settlement may be an option. If you're like me, if something
traumatic happened and you're reminded of it frequently, you'll look
for ways to put it behind you. This may be the case when you receive
payments from your structured settlement-you're reminded of the hurt and
pain. It can also be that you're in a financial bind or tired of
receiving a set amount of money each month.<br />
<br />
Who Can You Sell To?<br />
<br />
Apparently, the U.S. restricts some two-thirds of states from selling structured settlements. Check with your state and federal laws to ensure you can sell your settlement. If you're state doesn't restrict you from selling your structured settlement, search "buyer of structured settlement payments" on any major search engine. Talk to several and find out what each offers before deciding on one.<br />
<br />
Are there Tax Implications?<br />
<br />
If you sell all or a portion of your structured settlement rights, the IRS defines this as a structure settlement factoring transaction, and may be <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD6">subject to</span> an excise tax. Contact your tax professional to find out more.</span></div>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"> Structured Settlement Annuities are Created, Sold, & Purchased</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<span style="font-size: large;"><b>Creation and Sale</b></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><span style="font-size: large;">A structured settlement is an agreement between parties which
generally results in an insurance entity committing to make tax-free
payments to an individual for an agreed upon period of time or for the
life of the individual. Structured Settlements are based on a financial
plan for immediate cash and future tax-exempt payments which take into
consideration the future needs of the injured party. Structured
Settlements are also designed by the plaintiff in order to maximize
their settlement by receiving secure and tax-free payments.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><span style="font-size: large;">Upon reaching a settlement which includes the requirement of future
periodic payments, the Plaintiff often requires the Defendant to
transfer its obligation to make these periodic payments to a subsidiary
or affiliate of an insurance company (often referred to as an assignment
company). The Defendant or its liability insurance carrier pays the
assignment company an agreed amount of money in a lump sum in exchange
for its agreement to assume this periodic payment obligation. The
assignment company uses this lump sum to purchase an annuity from an
insurance company which is often affiliated with, or a parent of, the
assignment company. After the assignment, the assignment company or the
insurer will make all of the periodic payments directly to the
Plaintiff.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><span style="font-size: large;">Each insurance company is regulated through state insurance
commissions, who mandate the repayment of these annuities as claims
paying obligations. In addition, each state has a specific limited
guarantee or fund for repayment in the event that an insurance company
is unable to meet their obligations. Physical, personal injury
settlement payments are generally received tax-free by an injured person
by reason of Section 104 Internal Revenue Code. With a qualifying
structured settlement, the individual receives a tax-free accrual of
interest for the life, or term, of the annuity. In this manner, the
injured person becomes the payee of a Structured Settlement, which
generates payments at a fixed rate, for a fixed term.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><span style="font-size: large;">In some instances, the individual annuitant who is receiving periodic
payments under a Structured Settlement desires to sell some or all of
their future payments for a lump sum of money. The cash flows are sold
at a discount in exchange for the lump sum payment, and this discounted
Structured Settlement is available for sale to the Purchaser. This
manner of securing the payment streams at a discount directly from the
seller is how the Purchaser secures such favorable yields. Financial
brokers normally facilitate this transaction on behalf of the seller (or
annuitant) and the purchaser. </span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><b>Purchase</b></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><span style="font-size: large;">The payment rights to the future cash flow can only be transferred
from the Annuitant to the Purchaser pursuant to a court order process,
mandated by state law. Financial brokers typically engage a legal
counsel to meet the requirements of each state. Part of this court order
process requires confirmation from the judge that the transaction is in
the best interests of the Annuitant. A broker facilitates this process
by working directly with the annuitants and local legal counsel. The
local councel arranges for all the appropriate contracts and agreements
between the seller and purchaser, ensures that all state and federal
requirements are being met, and ensures that the insurance company or
assignment company acknowledges or stipulates that the purchased
payments are being redirected from the Seller to the Purchaser. Also,
the broker arranges for the retention of independent legal counsel, who
will be engaged to secure a court order approving the sale of the
Structured Settlement payment rights from the Seller directly to the
Purchaser. The court order will specify that all of the purchased
payments are to be paid directly to the Purchaser from the insurance
entity.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><span style="font-size: large;">It typically takes 2 or more months to complete a purchase and sale
transaction from the time that the broker reaches an agreement with an
individual to purchase his or her Structured Settlement payment rights
and when a final court order is obtained approving the purchase and sale
transaction.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><span style="font-size: large;">These transactions vary in size from approximately $10k to well over
$1M in principal invested. There is also a wide variety of “start dates”
and “end dates”, providing a wide range of cash flow durations. These
cash flows are NOT volatile, and can be expected to be received as
agreed to. Purchasers can choose which Structured Settlements meet their
specific objectives. A Purchaser can purchase assets backed by
different insurance entities, of different sizes, with different
durations. Fixed Income Annuities can also be purchased for an
individual investment portfolio through Self Directed Retirement
Accounts. The Purchaser can choose an asset that has a specific start
date, ensuring income in retirement.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><span style="font-size: large;">In each state, there have been thousands of approved transactions
where Plaintiffs have sold their lump sum payment. The market is
established, and processes exist in each state to successfully complete
these transactions. <br />
<br />
The Internal Revenue Code, which exempts from tax the Structured
Settlement payments being made to an injured person pursuant to a
settlement, is not applicable to secondary market purchasers. Hence, the
receipt of Structured Settlement payments is generally taxable to a
secondary market purchaser. Investors should consult their own tax
advisor as to the tax considerations that would be applicable prior to
purchasing any Structured Settlements. </span></div>

<h2 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">A fixed rate structured settlement annuity
is often created in connection with the settlement of a personal injury
lawsuit. In a typical transaction, the defendant and plaintiff reach a
settlement which provides for the plaintiff to receive periodic payments
over a period of time. </span></h2>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">
The use of structured settlements
has risen dramatically in the past twenty years. Previously, claimants
were presented with the option of an immediate cash settlement, which
created significant tax related burdens, and did not always address the
long term needs of the plaintiff. Structured settlement growth is most
attributable to the favorable federal income tax treatment that such
settlements received as a result of the 1982 amendment of the Internal
Revenue Code. These amendments approved a structure under which personal
injury tort claimants could receive periodic payments over a term of
years in settlement of their claim from insurance companies and
assignment companies. These amendments confirmed that the personal
injury tort plaintiff could receive the periodic payments under a
structured settlement on a tax-free basis, including the ability to
receive the “inside build-up” value or gain in investment value over the
life of the payments. The Internal Revenue Code was also amended by
adding new Section 130, which provided substantial tax clarity to
insurance companies that establish “qualified” structured settlements
and led to the creation of assignment companies that were affiliated
with the insurance companies that issued the annuities. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">
The most significant downside for a plaintiff with a structured
settlement comes from its inherent inflexibility. In ways unforeseen at
the settlement table, the plaintiff’s financial needs often change over
time resulting in a demand for liquidity options. Beginning in the late
1980s, a few small specialty finance companies started meeting post
settlement liquidity demands by offering new flexibility for structured
settlement payees through a lump sum cash payment to the plaintiff in
return for some or all of the rights to the plaintiff’s structured
settlement payments. During the late 1980s and early 1990s, certain
legal and tax issues surrounding settlement transactions limited the
growth of the assigned structured settlement market. </span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;"><b>
</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">
In 2001, Congress passed H.R. 2884, which was promptly signed into law
by the President. This legislation enacted Internal Revenue Code Section
5891 effective July 1, 2002 which largely eliminated the remaining
material tax issues associated with the purchase and sale of Structured
Settlements. Through a punitive excise tax penalty imposed on the
Structured Settlement purchaser, Code Section 5891 created the de facto
regulatory paradigm for the industry. To avoid the excise tax penalty, a
state court, in accordance with a qualified state statute, must approve
all structured settlement transactions. Qualified state statutes call
for certain baseline findings, including a requirement that the transfer
is in the best interest of the seller taking into account the welfare
and support of any dependents. In response, many states enacted statutes
regulating structured settlement transfers in accordance with this
mandate. </span></div>

<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">
Today, virtually all transfers are completed through a court order
process. As of January 15, 2009, 46 states have transfer laws in place
regulating the transfer process. Of these states, 41 are based in whole
or in part on the model state law (“Model Act”) enacted by the National
Conference of Insurance Legislators. In cases when the state law
predates the Model Act, they are substantially similar. Most state
transfer laws contain the following similar provisions: </span>
</div>
<ol style="text-align: left;">
<li><span style="font-size: large;">Pre-contract disclosures to be made to the seller concerning the essentials of the transaction.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: large;">Notices to be issued to certain interested parties.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: large;">An admonition to the seller to seek professional advice concerning the proposed transfer.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: large;">A court approval of the transfer, including a finding that it is
in the best interest of seller, taking into account the welfare and
support of any dependents. <i><br />
</i></span></li>
</ol>

<div style="text-align: center;">

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcyXy8nSdlPckq9DWk178sXNFqxeDAW9szmOGr6H7fhIm6-0BfBj-P5A8l6MgLwtYQgXA0OqSgcriBKJqKhXmaeArNGv5B89w5fEmPrkUm5-rn8qH8C4nMTKaAFJMnsEyESqcuFDo4uxgP/s1600/a1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img alt="Benefits of Purchasing Structured Settlement" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcyXy8nSdlPckq9DWk178sXNFqxeDAW9szmOGr6H7fhIm6-0BfBj-P5A8l6MgLwtYQgXA0OqSgcriBKJqKhXmaeArNGv5B89w5fEmPrkUm5-rn8qH8C4nMTKaAFJMnsEyESqcuFDo4uxgP/s1600/a1.JPG" height="211" title="Benefits of Purchasing Structured Settlement" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Whenever an individual annuitant, who is receiving periodic payments
under a Structured Settlement, desires to sell some or all of their
future payments for a lump sum of money, the cash flows are sold at a
discount in exchange for the lump sum payment. This discounted
Structured Settlement is then available for sale to the Purchaser. This
manner of securing the payment streams at a discount directly from the
seller is how the Purchaser secures very favorable yields. This
transaction is normally facilitated by a financial broker on behalf of
the seller (or annuitant) and the purchaser.</span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br />
These structured settlements normally earn more than two times the
yearly rates of Municipal or Corporate Bonds, Bank Issued Certificates
of Deposit (CD’s), or Government Issued Treasury Securities. Investors
can certainly purchase an annuity directly from an insurance company,
but these Direct Annuity Investments are backed by the same insurance
companies as the Structured Settlements arranged by a broker, and they
are typically originated with large sales charges or commissions, and
offer substantially lower yields.</span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br />
The major benefits of purchasing these structured settlement annuities are:</span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br />
1. Purchaser receives significantly higher yields than Purchaser can secure from comparable fixed rate investments. </span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br />
2. Purchaser receives a fixed income over a defined period of time,
based on the specific parameters of the purchased Structured
Settlement. </span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br />
3. Purchasers can aquire this asset to increase the yields in personal
holdings, to maximize income at retirement, or to preserve principal for
future years. They can be purchased by individuals, retirement plans,
corporate entities, foundations, trusts, through investment clubs, or
group investment accounts. </span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br />
4. The Structured Settlement is backed or supported by annuity contracts
issued by a rated insurance carrier. The insurance carrier that issued
the annuity contract is state regulated and will generally have a
Standard & Poor’s credit rating between “A-” through “AAA”. </span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br />
5. Purchaser has control throughout the investment process; Purchaser
receives assignment of the Structured Settlement payment rights directly
from the seller through an approved court approval process, and the
Purchaser receives the future cash flows directly from the rated
insurance company that is obligated to make the payments. At no time
during the lifecycle of the asset should the broker have possession, or
control, of the Purchaser’s money. </span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><b><br />
Considerations of Purchasing from Annuitant</b></span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br />
1. The transaction process facilitates a court order of the asset
directly from the Seller to the Purchaser. The broker does not own the
Structured Settlement payment rights, and should not receive, hold, or
disburse any of the investor’s money. This is NOT a fund, and the
Structured Settlement payments are made directly to the Purchaser from
the insurance entity. </span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br />
2. The security of the annuity is directly related to the claims paying
ability of the insurance entity. The designation of an annuity as a
“claims paying” obligation means that these obligations supersede
obligations to bond holders, stock holders and other debtors. The
insurance entities are required to hold capital to support these
obligations as required by the applicable state insurance regulator. To
date, a situation has not been reported where an insurance company rated
A, or better, by Standard & Poors has defaulted on an annuity
obligation that supported a structured settlement, and a concomitant
loss has resulted to the payee. However, as the current financial
markets illustrate, past history is not a guarantee of future results,
and there could be future issues that arise relating to Structured
Settlements that have not existed in the past. </span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br />
3. Annuities, depending on the amounts owed, are partially or fully
guaranteed by state insurance funds, and are designed to protect annuity
holders from loss. This may provide an additional level of security to
the potential Purchaser. </span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br />
4. Structured Settlements are issued in U.S. dollars. Foreign Purchasers
should consider the impact of exchange rates and U.S. withholding taxes
on any potential investment. </span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br />
5. A Structured Settlement may be less liquid than other investment
options. The court order assigns the payment rights directly to the
Purchaser or designee, and any future assignments may require an
additional court order. There is no established secondary market for the
resale of Structured Settlements and hence, Purchasers should be
prepared to hold the Structured Settlements for the entire term. </span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br />
6. In evaluating Structured Settlement payment rights, Purchasers should
review the structure of, and support for, the payment rights. For
example, some Structured Settlement payment rights are guaranteed by the
related insurance company. </span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br />
7. The Structured Settlement payment rights purchased may be all of the
payments due to a Plaintiff or only a portion of the payment rights.
Because the court will only approve a transaction that is in the best
interests of the Plaintiff, in many instances, only a portion of the
payments can be purchased since the purchase price for these limited
payments will meet all of the Plaintiff’s current needs. Because most
state guaranty funds have dollar limits on the amount that they can be
obligated to pay in respect to annuities and life insurance policies
issued by insolvent insurance companies, Purchasers should be cognizant
of the size of the underlying annuity that supports the Structured
Settlement relative to those limits. </span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br />
8. There are tax considerations applicable to purchasing, collecting,
holding and selling Structured Settlements. Please note that Section 104
of the Internal Revenue Code, which exempts Structured Settlement
payments being made to an injured person pursuant to a settlement, is
not applicable to</span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br />
Secondary market purchasers. Hence, the receipt of Structured Settlement
payments are generally taxable to a secondary market purchaser.
Purchasers should consult their own tax advisor as to the tax
considerations that would be applicable prior to purchasing any
Structured Settlements. </span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><b>Risk Mitigation of Purchasing from Annuitant </b></span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br />
The purchasers return on the investment is based entirely on timely
receipt of payments outlined in the court order which assigns the rights
to those payments to the Purchaser. The risk associated with receipt of
those payments is mitigated by the historical performance of the asset,
as well as the various guarantees that may apply. </span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br />
1. In most cases, the seller has already been receiving payments related
to the original Structured Settlement. This indicates that the
insurance company has accepted that obligation, and has established a
pattern of making timely payments. </span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br />
2. Annuities are typically secured through a process of matching assets,
meaning that the insurance entities typically invest the original
principal received from the defendant or assignment company into
investments which offset the obligation. </span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br />
3. The annuity companies have historically performed as agreed. </span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br />
4. The Court Order process establishes the rights of the purchaser
related to receipt of the payments, as well as the completion of a
process that includes the acceptance and acknowledgement of the specific
insurance entity. </span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br />
5. Annuities are “Claims Paying” obligations, and they supersede other
creditors in the unlikely event of default or liquidation. </span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br />
6. The underlying rating of the insurance entity is available.
Structured Settlements where the underlying annuity is from a company
with an S&P rating of A- or better are normally very safe
investments. </span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br />
7. The insurance entities typically have large parent companies, with a significant asset base. </span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br />
8. Finally, each state provides a limited guarantee fund to support the obligations of the entities within that state. </span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br />
The ownership of some Structured Settlements represents a direct
investment in an annuity contract. In some states, this provides the
sophisticated Purchaser an opportunity to shield assets from creditors
since annuities and/or the cash proceeds thereof can be exempt in whole
or in part from creditor claims. The laws differ by state, and
Purchasers should thoroughly research how this applies to their
situation and consult with their own legal counsel.</span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br />
Fixed Rate Annuity Backed Structured Settlements are not typically
offered directly to the general public, except in connection with the
settlement of lawsuits and certain other limited circumstances.
Therefore, they provide a limited opportunity to sophisticated and
cautious purchasers to secure safe fixed returns at superior rates of
interest.</span></div>

memory.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 18px; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 20px; padding: 0px 0px 1px;">
Then, the participants sat down on a leg-extension machine. Half of the
participants performed 50 reps at max effort, which took about 20
minutes. The rest just sat on the machine and let the researchers move
their legs for them. Meanwhile, the researchers also monitored each
participant’s blood pressure, heart rate, and saliva (for stress-linked
chemicals).</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 18px; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 20px; padding: 0px 0px 1px;">
<strong>MORE:</strong> 12 Reasons You Should Start Lifting Weights Today</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 18px; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 20px; padding: 0px 0px 1px;">
Two days later, all of the participants came back to the lab and checked
out a series of 180 photos—the 90 originals mixed in with 90 new ones.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 18px; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 20px; padding: 0px 0px 1px;">
Researchers found that while the non-lifters remembered about half of
the photos from the first lab session, those who had lifted remembered
10 percent more. Pretty handy trick, huh?</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 18px; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 20px; padding: 0px 0px 1px;">
<strong>MORE:</strong> 5 Ways Exercise Impacts Your Brain</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 18px; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 20px; padding: 0px 0px 1px;">
And this isn’t the first study to find a link between a fit body and a sharper brain. One Brazilian study,
for instance, found that six months of resistance training enhanced
lifters’ brain function, including their short- and long-term memory.
Meanwhile, recent research published in <em>Cognitive, Affective & Behavioral Neuroscience</em> found that young adults who are aerobically fit perform better on memory tests than non-fit ones. </div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 18px; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 20px; padding: 0px 0px 1px;">
However, this study is unique (and awesome!) in that it found that
just one post-study weight-lifting session can improve your memory.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 18px; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 20px; padding: 0px 0px 1px;">
But how’s that work? Researchers explain that people are more likely to
remember experiences after undergoing acute stress, which weight lifting
provides. What’s more, they say it should also work with bodyweight
strength moves like squats, lunges, and pushups. So there’s no excuse
not to reap weight lifting’s memory-boosting benefits!</div>

<br />
<div style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 18px; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 20px; padding: 0px 0px 1px;">
Just because you're not vying for 20-inch biceps or thunderously strong
thighs like the muscle heads in the gym doesn't mean you should shun the
weight room. Lifting weights gives you an edge over belly fat, stress,
heart disease, and cancer—and it's also the single most effective way to
look hot in a bikini. Yet somehow women are still hesitant: Only about a
fifth of females strength train two or more times a week.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 18px; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 20px; padding: 0px 0px 1px;">
Here are 12 reasons you shouldn't live another day without hitting the weights.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 18px; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 20px; padding: 0px 0px 1px;">
<strong>You'll Lose 40 Percent More Fat</strong><br />If you think <span class="mandelbrot_refrag" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 1px;">cardio</span> is
the key to blasting belly fat, keep reading: When Penn State
researchers put dieters into three groups—no exercise, aerobic exercise
only, or aerobic exercise and weight training—they all lost around 21
pounds, but the lifters shed six more pounds of fat than those who
didn't pump iron. Why? The lifters' loss was almost pure fat; the others
lost fat and muscle.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 18px; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 20px; padding: 0px 0px 1px;">
Other research on dieters who don't lift shows that, on average, 75
percent of their weight loss is from fat, while 25 percent is from
muscle. Muscle loss may drop your scale weight, but it doesn't improve
your reflection in the mirror and it makes you more likely to gain back
the flab you lost. However, if you weight train as you <span class="mandelbrot_refrag" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 1px;">diet</span>, you'll protect your hard-earned muscle and burn more fat.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 18px; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 20px; padding: 0px 0px 1px;">
<strong>Your Clothes Will Fit Better </strong><br />Research shows that
between the ages of 30 and 50, you'll likely lose 10 percent of your
body's total muscle. Worse yet, it's likely to be replaced by fat over
time, says a study. And that increases your waist size, because one
pound of fat takes up 18 percent more space than one pound of muscle.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 18px; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 20px; padding: 0px 0px 1px;">
<strong>You'll Burn More Calories</strong><br />Lifting increases the
number of calories you burn while your butt is parked on the couch.
That's because after each strength workout, your muscles need energy to
repair their fibers. In fact, researchers found that when people did a
total-body workout with just three big-muscle moves, their metabolisms
were raised for 39 hours afterward. They also burned a greater
percentage of calories from fat compared with those who didn't lift.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 18px; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 20px; padding: 0px 0px 1px;">
Lifting gives you a better burn during exercise too: Doing a circuit of
eight moves (which takes about eight minutes) can expend 159 to 231
calories. That's about what you'd burn if you ran at a 10-mile-per-hour
pace for the same duration.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 18px; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 20px; padding: 0px 0px 1px;">
<strong>Your <span class="mandelbrot_refrag" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 1px;">Diet</span> Will Improve</strong><br />Exercise
helps your brain stick to a diet plan. University of Pittsburgh
researchers studied 169 overweight adults and found that those who
didn't follow a three-hours-a-week training regimen ate more than their
allotted 1,500 calories a day. The reverse was also true—sneaking snacks
sabotaged their <span class="mandelbrot_refrag" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 1px;">workouts</span>. The study authors say both diet and exercise likely remind you to stay on track, aiding your weight-loss goals.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 18px; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 20px; padding: 0px 0px 1px;">
<strong>You'll Handle Stress Better</strong><br />Break a sweat in the
weight room and you'll stay cool under pressure. Scientists determined
that the fittest people exhibited lower levels of stress hormones than
those who were the least fit. Another study found that after a stressful
situation, the blood pressure levels of people with the most muscle
returned to normal faster than the levels of those with the least
muscle.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 18px; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 20px; padding: 0px 0px 1px;">
<strong>You'll Be Happier</strong><br />Yoga isn't the only Zen-inducing kind of exercise. Researchers found that people who performed three weight <span class="mandelbrot_refrag" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 1px;">workouts</span> a week for six months significantly improved their scores on measures of anger and overall mood.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 18px; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 20px; padding: 0px 0px 1px;">
<strong>You'll Build Stronger Bones</strong><br />As you age, bone mass
goes to pot, which increases your likelihood of one day suffering a
debilitating fracture. The good news: A study found that 16 weeks of
resistance training increased hip bone density and elevated blood levels
of osteocalcin—a marker of bone growth--by 19 percent.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 18px; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 20px; padding: 0px 0px 1px;">
<strong>You'll Get Into Shape Faster</strong><br />The term <span class="mandelbrot_refrag" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 1px;">cardio</span> shouldn't
describe only aerobic exercise: A study found that circuit training
with weights raises your heart rate 15 beats per minute higher than if
you ran at 60 to 70 percent of your max heart rate. This approach
strengthens muscles and provides cardiovascular benefits similar to
those of aerobic exercise—so you save time without sacrificing results.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 18px; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 20px; padding: 0px 0px 1px;">
<strong>Your Heart Will Be Healthier</strong><br />Researchers at the University of Michigan found that people who did three total-body weight <span class="mandelbrot_refrag" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 1px;">workouts</span> a
week for two months decreased their diastolic blood pressure (the
bottom number) by an average of eight points. That's enough to reduce
the risk of a stroke by 40 percent and the chance of a heart attack by
15 percent.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 18px; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 20px; padding: 0px 0px 1px;">
<strong>You'll Be Way More Productive</strong><br />Lifting could result
in a raise (or at least a pat on the back from your boss). Researchers
found that workers were 15 percent more productive on days they
exercised compared with days they didn't. So on days you work out, you
can (theoretically) finish in eight hours what would normally take nine
hours and 12 minutes. Or you'd still work for nine hours but get more
done, leaving you feeling less stressed and happier with your
job--another perk reported on days workers exercised.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 18px; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 20px; padding: 0px 0px 1px;">
<strong>You'll Live Longer</strong><br />University of South Carolina
researchers determined that total-body strength is linked to lower risks
of death from cardiovascular disease and cancer. Similarly, other
scientists found that being strong during middle age is associated with
"exceptional survival," defined as living to the age of 85 without
developing a major disease.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 18px; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 20px; padding: 0px 0px 1px;">
<strong>You'll Be Even Smarter</strong><br />Muscles strengthen your body
and mind: Brazilian researchers found that six months of resistance
training enhanced lifters' cognitive function. In fact, the sweat
sessions resulted in better short- and long-term memory, improved verbal
reasoning, and a longer attention span.</div>

<br />
<div style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 18px; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 20px; padding: 0px 0px 1px;">
<span style="font-size: large;">You know that exercise helps you stay fit and toned and can help you
slim down. But that's soooo not the only reason to hit the gym—it's also
hugely helpful for your psyche. We rounded up the top ways that it
helps your brain, not just your body:</span></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><div style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 20px; padding: 0px 0px 1px;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><strong>1. It helps alleviate depression:</strong>
Research shows that exercise is so effective at chasing away the blues,
it can even help treat major depressive disorder. In fact, last year,
researchers at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center came
up with clinical guidelines for the necessary exercise “dose” doctors
should recommend to patients to reap the antidepressant effects.</span></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><div style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 20px; padding: 0px 0px 1px;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><strong>2. It improves your memory:</strong> Getting
your heart rate up improves blood flow to the brain, which helps boost
memory and overall brain function. In one study that looked at brain
structure pre- and post-workout, researchers found increases in brain
volume in a number of areas after participants got sweaty. The effect is
pretty noticable, too: Patients in the study did 10 to 15 percent
better on a variety of memory and attention tasks after they'd
exercised.</span></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><div style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 20px; padding: 0px 0px 1px;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><strong>3.</strong> <strong>It helps you de-stress:</strong> When
you're stressed, it's often because your to-do list is a mile long—so
you probably feel like it would just be more nerve-wracking to try
to squeeze in a workout on top of everything else. But here's why you
should: A study that came out last year from the University of Colorado
at Boulder found that even forced exercise can help protect you from
anxiety and stress. So stop making excuses, and get thee to the gym when
you're feeling frantic.</span></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><div style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 20px; padding: 0px 0px 1px;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><strong>4.</strong> I<strong>t makes you more focused:</strong> After
evaluating more than 100 studies on exercise, University of Iowa
researchers concluded that strength training helps your focus because it
requires focus: After all, it takes some serious effort to eek out
those reps without sacrificing the correct form, all while remembering
to breathe and tuning out the distracting guy huffing and puffing beside
you.</span></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><div style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 20px; padding: 0px 0px 1px;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><strong>5.</strong> <strong>It helps you stick to your goals:</strong> In the same University of Iowa study, researchers concluded that, since <span class="mandelbrot_refrag" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 1px;">cardio</span> requires
such long and consistent effort, doing a lot of it may help you develop
an ability to follow through with tasks. That, in turn, can help you
stick to other (non-exercise-related) goals that require long-term
effort.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">As if you needed more evidence that workouts are good for more than just keeping your body toned, a new study indicates that they may help keep your memory sharp, too. The research, published in <em>Cognitive, Affective & Behavioral Neuroscience</em>,
found that young adults who were aerobically fit racked up better
results on memory tests than their more sedentary counterparts.</span></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><div style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 20px; padding: 0px 0px 1px;">
<span style="font-size: large;">
Researchers tested 75 college students over a three-day period. They
measured their peak oxygen consumption, which determines aerobic
fitness, via a treadmill test (taking into account each student's body
fat percentage, weight, age, and sex). They also had the participants
study word pairs. Finally, researchers quizzed the students on the word
pairs to gauge their long-term memory (defined as anything remembered
for longer than 30 seconds) and implicit memory (the kind you're not
conscious of that lets you do tasks on autopilot, like walking or tying
your shoe). The students who had the lowest peak oxygen consumption also
showed the poorest long-term and implicit memory, suggesting a link
between physical fitness and strong mental recall. </span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">
"The findings show that lower-fit individuals lose more memory across
time," said Kimberly Fenn, a study co-author and an assistant professor
of psychology at Michigan State University, in a press release. </span></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><div style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 20px; padding: 0px 0px 1px;">
<span style="font-size: large;">
The study is the first to take a look at young adults, memory, and
exercise; previous research focused on the brains of children or senior
citizens. Besides giving you another great reason to lace up your kicks
and get moving, the study shows that working out has definite cognitive
benefits in addition to these other ways exercise affects your brain. If you've been on an extended break from the gym, these tips will motivate you to get back in the habit of exercising.</span></div>

report published in the </span></span><span style="font-size: large;"><em style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; line-height: 26px;">Journal of Psychiatric Practice</em><span style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; line-height: 26px;">, which is geared toward clinicians, outlines the </span><span style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; line-height: 26px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 1px;">necessary exercise “dose” for patients to reap the antidepressant effects</span><span style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; line-height: 26px;">. </span><br style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; line-height: 26px;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; line-height: 26px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; line-height: 26px;">Researchers
at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center came up with
clinical guidelines based on what’s worked in past studies, says senior
study author Madhukar Trivedi, MD, of the department of psychiatry.
Their recommendations: Patients should do aerobic exercise or resistance
training (though there’s more research evidence to support the former)
for 45 to 60 minutes three to five times per week. Aerobic
exercise—running, biking, walking—should be at about 50 to 85 percent of
max heart rate. For resistance—something like weight-lifting—the </span><span class="mandelbrot_refrag" style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; line-height: 26px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 1px;">workouts</span><span style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; line-height: 26px;">should
target both upper- and lower-body muscles, and intensity should be
three sets of eight repetitions at 80 percent max. The regimen should
last for at least 10 to 12 weeks. “It boils down to about 150 minutes
per week of exercise at moderate intensity,” says Trivedi. </span><br style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; line-height: 26px;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; line-height: 26px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; line-height: 26px;">While
these recommendations are based on what was shown to work in past
studies that have looked at the link between exercise and depressive
symptoms, that doesn’t necessarily mean other regimens won’t work. These
are just helpful guidelines if you want to reap the full mood-boosting
benefits of exercise. </span><br style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; line-height: 26px;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; line-height: 26px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; line-height: 26px;">And
of course, if you’re experiencing depressive symptoms and would like to
try exercise as treatment, make sure you're doing so under the guidance
of a clinician, says Trivedi.</span></span></div>

all the things you've got on your mind — work, bills, that weird, new
stain on the kitchen floor — your mind probably isn't one of them. But
now that you've started blanking on your own cell phone number and
freezing when the ATM asks for your PIN, maybe it's time to start
thinking about it. See, your brain tissue is steadily being chipped away
— some of it by the natural aging process and some of it by such brain
shrinkers as stress and cigarettes. Luckily, there are ways to
strengthen your </span>brainpower<span style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 18px; line-height: 26px;"> the way you build </span><span class="mandelbrot_refrag" style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 18px; line-height: 26px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 1px;">your abs</span><span style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 18px; line-height: 26px;">. reason you misplace keys or can't remember what you ate 9 minutes ago?
Normal aging shrinks neurons (brain cells) and drains neurotransmitters
(the messengers that communicate between and among cells). But getting
your heart rate up can reverse this process by increasing blood flow to
the brain to </span>improve memory<span style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 18px; line-height: 26px;"> and
overall brain function, says Arthur Kramer, Ph.D., a professor of
cognitive neuroscience at the University of Illinois. "We examined brain
structure before and after fitness training and we found increases of
brain volume in a number of areas," says Dr. Kramer, whose patients
improved 10 to 15 percent on a variety of memory and attention tasks
after exercise. The minimum: You can reap benefits from as little as
walking 30 minutes three times a week.</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 18px; line-height: 26px;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 18px; line-height: 26px;" /><b style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 18px; line-height: 26px;">Brain Booster 2: Your Back</b><br style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 18px; line-height: 26px;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 18px; line-height: 26px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 18px; line-height: 26px;">Hauling
your everyday (80-pound) shoulder bag can leave you tired. Carrying
whiny kids can leave you frazzled. And both may injure your back — and
your brain — in the process. A recent Northwestern University study
found that people who suffered from chronic back pain lost up to 1.5
cubic centimeters (equivalent to 1 teaspoon) of gray matter per year.
That's because the area of the brain that copes with the stress of the
pain (the lateral prefrontal cortex, for those scoring at home) becomes
depleted and dysfunctional enough to affect emotional decision-making,
says A. Vania Apkarian, Ph.D., whose previous work found that patients
with chronic back pain were slower decision-makers. Best way to beat
back pain: build muscle in your lower back and abdominals to support the
spine. Try the reverse trunk curl. Lie flat on your stomach and fold
your hands under your chin. Lift your chin and chest off the floor about
3 to 6 inches. Aim for three sets of 10 to 15 repetitions three times a
week.</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 18px; line-height: 26px;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 18px; line-height: 26px;" /><b style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 18px; line-height: 26px;">Brain Booster 3: Your Waist</b><br style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 18px; line-height: 26px;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 18px; line-height: 26px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #363636; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 18px; line-height: 26px;">A
body mass index below 25 not only means you'll look great in a bikini
but that you'll be more likely to remember that you do. A recent Swedish
study found that women who had a BMI of 27 (25-30 is considered
overweight) were more likely to experience loss of brain tissue in the
temporal lobe (that's your brain's main hub for memory function and one
of the first areas affected by Alzheimer's). That's because extra fat
generates more chemicals that can be toxic to your brain, says Deborah
Gustafson, Ph.D., the lead study author and assistant professor at the
Institute of Clinical Neuroscience in Sweden. One class of these
chemicals — called free radicals — latches on to cells, disrupts the way
they function, and can kill them. Aging naturally chews away at your
memory, but excess fat may speed up the process. For each point your BMI
increases, your risk increases 12 to 16 percent. "If you decrease your
body weight, you're going to slow potential atrophy," says Dr.
Gustafson, who recommends a BMI below 25.</span></div>
